Welcome to Pass the Parcel ("the App"). We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
The Short Version: We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app. We don't collect your name, email, or any personal information. You can opt out of analytics at any time.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Analytics Data
To understand how people use the App and make it better, we collect anonymous analytics data including:
- Usage patterns: Which songs are played, how long games last, which features are used
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, app version
- Performance data: App crashes, loading times, errors
- Purchase events: Whether premium content was purchased (not payment details)
1.2 What We DON'T Collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or contact information
- Your location (GPS or otherwise)
- Photos, contacts, or other personal files
- Payment card details (handled securely by Apple)
- Any information that personally identifies you

3. Analytics Consent
When you first open the App, we'll ask for your permission to collect analytics. You can choose to:
- Allow analytics: Help us improve the app with anonymous usage data
- Decline analytics: Use the app without any data collection
You can change your choice at any time in the App's Settings menu.
iOS App Tracking Transparency: On iOS 14.5 and later, you'll also see Apple's tracking permission prompt. This is separate from our analytics and relates to cross-app tracking, which we do not perform. However, we respect your choice either way.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
4.1 Firebase Analytics (Google)
We use Firebase Analytics, provided by Google, to collect anonymous usage data. Firebase Analytics:
- Processes data according to Google's Privacy Policy
- Collects device identifiers and usage events
- Does not collect personally identifiable information
- Allows you to opt out via the App's Settings or device-level controls
Data may be transferred to Google servers in the United States. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
4.2 Apple App Store
In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment information. Apple's privacy practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention
Analytics data is:
- Aggregated and anonymised within 24 hours of collection
- Retained in aggregate form for up to 26 months
- Automatically deleted after the retention period
We do not retain any data that could identify individual users.
6. Children's Privacy
Pass the Parcel is a family-friendly party game suitable for all ages. We are committed to protecting children's privacy:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
- The App does not require account creation or personal details
- Analytics data is anonymous and cannot identify any user, including children
- In-app purchases require parental authentication through the device settings
Parents can disable analytics for the entire household by declining the analytics prompt or adjusting Settings within the App.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Opt out: Disable analytics collection in Settings
- Access: Request what data we hold (note: we only hold anonymous, aggregated data)
- Deletion: Request deletion of any data associated with your device
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format

8. International Users
For EU/EEA Users (GDPR)
Our legal basis for processing analytics data is your consent, which you provide when accepting analytics in the App. You can withdraw consent at any time via Settings.
For California Users (CCPA)
We do not sell personal information. The anonymous analytics we collect do not constitute "personal information" under CCPA as they cannot identify you.
For UK Users
We comply with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. The data controller is Rob Hesketh, contactable at the email below.
9. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect analytics data, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
- Access controls limiting who can view data
- Regular security reviews
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through:
- An in-app notification
- Updating the "Last updated" date at the top
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
